In wet weather, dirty glass insulator is prone to flashover discharge, so it must be cleaned to restore the original insulation level. The general area shall be cleaned once a year, and the polluted area shall be cleaned twice a year (once before the fog season).

1. There are two ways to wash with charged water: big water washing and small water washing. Flushing water, effective length of operating rod, distance between people and live parts, etc. must meet the requirements of the industry regulations.

2. Power failure cleaning means that after the power failure of the line, workers board the pole and wipe it with a rag. If not, it can be wiped with wet cloth or detergent. If not, the insulator or composite insulator shall be replaced.

3. In general, the non-stop cleaning is to wipe the insulator on the running line by using the insulating rod equipped with a brush or tied with cotton yarn. The electrical performance and effective length of the insulating rod used, and the distance between the person and the live part shall comply with the provisions of the corresponding voltage level, and the operation must be supervised by a specially assigned person.
