Insulating core rod is the abbreviation of epoxy glass fiber pull rod. It is the skeleton of composite insulator. It supports the umbrella cover, internal insulation, connecting the fittings at both ends, and bears the mechanical load. It has high tensile strength, generally up to more than 600MPa, 2 times of ordinary steel, 5-8 times of porcelain, and has good dielectric properties and chemical resistance, It also has good bending fatigue resistance, creep resistance and impact resistance. The silicone rubber umbrella covers mainly protect the mandrel, cover the rain and snow, increase the creepage distance and the external insulation of products. It is made of high molecular polymer silicone rubber as the base, supplemented with flame retardant, anti-aging agent, coupling agent and other fillers, which is sulfurized by high temperature and high pressure. It has good hydrophobicity and mobility, and good corrosion resistance, aging resistance, electrical insulation and other properties. Moreover, it has high pollution flashover voltage and crushing resistance, and the voltage distribution is even. Compared with porcelain, its flashover voltage is more than 2 times of that of porcelain under the same conditions.
