Composite insulators are made up of three parts: insulating mandrel, silicon rod rubber umbrella cover and connecting metal fittings at both ends.
The insulating mandrel is the abbreviation of epoxy glass fiber drawing rod. It is the skeleton of composite insulators. It is made of high molecular polymer silicone rubber as the base, supplemented with flame retardant, anti-aging agent, coupling agent and other fillers, which is sulfurized by high temperature and high pressure. It has good hydrophobicity and mobility, and good corrosion resistance, aging resistance, electrical insulation and other properties. Moreover, it has high pollution flashover voltage and crush resistance, and the voltage distribution is uniform. Compared with porcelain, the flashover voltage under the same conditions is more than 2 times of that of porcelain.
